DIRECTOR

For more than 25 years, David has dedicated his career to creating unforgettable experiences for children, building strong camp communities, and developing programs that help young people grow, build confidence, and discover their potential.

David’s love for summer camp began at just five years old, when he first attended overnight camp. What started as a childhood adventure quickly became a lifelong passion, shaping both his career and his belief in the lasting impact camp can have on a young person’s life. Having grown up at camp himself, David knows firsthand the friendships, independence, confidence, and memories that make summers so special.

Over the past 25 years, David has held numerous leadership positions, including Camp Director, overseeing large-scale camp operations, leading hundreds of staff members, and creating innovative programs that keep campers engaged, challenged, and excited to return each summer. At the heart of his approach is a simple belief: great camps are built on great relationships, strong leadership, and a whole lot of fun.

Sports have also played a major role in David’s life, particularly football. A member of the Flag Football Hall of Fame, David has coached teams to eight NFL Flag National Championships and two World Championships. He has also served as Head Coach of the USA Men's and Women's National Flag Football Teams, traveling to more than 20 countries to coach, compete, and share his love of the game. For David, sports are about much more than winning. They're an opportunity to teach teamwork, leadership, resilience, sportsmanship, and lessons that stay with young people long after the final whistle.

Known for his energy, sense of humor, and hands-on leadership style, David is the kind of camp director who loves being right in the middle of the action. Whether he's cheering on a camper, mentoring a counselor, coaching on the field, or finding a way to make someone laugh, he brings enthusiasm and a genuine love for what he does.

Originally from South Florida, David now lives in Johns Creek, Georgia, with his wife, Jenn, and their two children, Brody and Sami. Outside of camp, you'll likely find him coaching football, watching sports, traveling with his family, or planning their next adventure.

For David, camp has never been just a job. It's been a part of his life for as long as he can remember. And after more than 25 years in the field, what excites him most hasn't changed: helping kids make friends, try new things, find their confidence, and experience the kind of summer they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Lauren joined the Berkshire United team in 2026 as Assistant Director, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the camp world and a lifelong love of the friendships, traditions, and experiences that make summer camp so special.

A Berkshire County native, Lauren grew up spending her summers attending local camps, where her love for camping began. After graduating from Westfield State College, she began her full-time career with URJ Eisner and Crane Lake Camps, where she spent 27 years in a variety of roles. From working seasonally as a counselor and in the camp office to becoming the youngest member of the Leadership Team as Camp Administrator, Lauren went on to hold full-time leadership positions including Business Manager, Retreat Center Manager, Administrator, and Food Service Manager. Her diverse experience gave her a unique perspective on nearly every aspect of creating a successful camp community and experience.

Lauren is excited to bring together her two greatest passions, camp and youth sports. When she isn't at camp, you'll find her cheering on her two children from the sidelines of various youth sports events throughout Berkshire County and beyond. She has also held leadership roles with the local youth lacrosse, football, cheer, and basketball programs.

Lauren lives in West Stockbridge with her husband and two children (who have attended BUSC since its inaugural summer) and is excited to help create a Berkshire United experience where high level sports, lifelong friendships, and the magic of traditional camp come together.
